Gilles Desplanques

Gilles Desplanques was born in 1977, he lives and works in Marseille (FR)

“A practice rooted in situation, opportunity, wordplay and space.
Encounters during travels, interventions in the landscape, ephemeral actions — road pictures, in a way.
Videos too.
The body as a site of experimentation, as a measuring tool that generates volumes, directions, movements.
A geographical exploration, a bodily scale relationship between the body and the work, and between the work and the site.
A certain political sensibility, something that grates, utopia, humor.
A certain art of baring oneself.”
