Jean-Pierre Adam
Jean-Pierre Adam is an Astérides Resident in 1995. The archives of Triangle-Astérides do not allow for the determination of the exact dates of this six months residency in 1995.
Jean-Pierre Adam was born in 1941 in Dulange (LU)
Jean-Pierre Adam, like many children of the Red Lands, was first a factory worker. He lost his left hand in a workplace accident at 16 years old. He then left the steel industry and pursued art studies at the Zurich School of Fine Arts and the National School of Decorative Arts in Aubusson. In 1989, he left Luxembourg to settle in the South of France. About ten years later he returned and set up his studio in the “Italian” district of Dudelange.
He was known as one of the great defenders of the independent artist status in Luxembourg and was a founder of the Luxembourg Summer Academy. The artist was interested in several techniques: painting, sculpture, engraving, lithography, woodcut, screen printing, tapestry, stained glass, textile art, etc.
