Joseph Dadoune was born in Nice (FR) in 1975, he lives and works in Tel Aviv (IS)
Yosef Joseph Yaakov Dadoune grew up between the South of France and Ofakim, a development town in the Negev on the border with Gaza. This dual cultural background, together with his sense of belonging both here and elsewhere, and of existing on the periphery, informs a body of work spanning performance, film, choreography, photography, drawing, and painting.
Joseph Dadoune has participated in more than 200 solo and group exhibitions. His work has been presented notably at FIAC (Paris), Espace Richaud (Versailles), the Petah Tikva Museum of Art, Le Plateau / FRAC Île-de-France, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Fondation Ricard (Paris), and the Israel Museum (Jerusalem). His videos have been screened at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, the Louvre Auditorium, White Box, and the Palais de Tokyo.
Joseph Dadoune’s works are held in the collections of the Centre Georges Pompidou, the Louvre Museum, the FNAC (Fonds national d’art contemporain, Paris), FRAC Normandie Rouen, the Zabludowicz Collection, the Israel Museum, and the Petah Tikva Museum of Art.
