Circus
The Circus exhibition brings together four young artists living and working in Marseille, who have not yet had the opportunity to exhibit there: FRANCK ASLAN, MARC ETIENNE, PIERRE MALPHETTES, and ÉLODIE MOIRENC.
Wishing to offer a broader view of each artist’s work, Astérides chose to select only a few artists in order to allow each of them to present their work through a selection of several pieces. The confrontation of the works within the gallery space aims to reveal points of connection, through shared concerns both in the construction of form and the development of content: systems of representation calling upon the imagination, the use or pursuit of technical skill, and the investment of a scenic space in which the viewer is very often taken into account…
The video presented by DENIS BRUN stands somewhat apart, as the artist has had the opportunity to exhibit elsewhere. Nevertheless, it develops a fictional dimension that effectively supports the purpose of the exhibition.
