Triangle has been committed to supporting emerging contemporary artists from all nationalities and practices for nearly fifteen years, through a residency and exhibition program that is increasingly demanding and forward-thinking, within the unique and multidisciplinary setting of La Friche Belle de Mai in Marseille, which has been designated the European Capital of Culture for 2013.

For the past two years, Triangle has been undergoing a significant transformation: a new direction, more projects, and a deeper involvement in its community through active participation in the modernization of La Friche, in anticipation of 2013 and beyond, under the leadership of Patrick Bouchain, President of the cooperative society in charge of the project, of which we are shareholders.

The raffle around which the Gala is organized will allow the association to raise funds, thanks to the 51 confirmed artists closely linked to Triangle who have donated works. This will help continue our support for emerging artists. In light of the announced withdrawal of public funding, the financial crisis, and the sponsorship-driven biennales, it is more important than ever to affirm the non-commercial sector as a crucial resource, an essential tool for young creation that continues to bring us all, with ever-renewed enthusiasm, hope, dreams, and awareness for the future.

We hope that the works generously donated by the artists will inspire you to support us by purchasing a raffle ticket for 300 euros if you are a young collector, or even more if you are an experienced collector who sees in this impressive list the reminder that all great artists were once emerging artists, most likely having gone through programs like Triangle.

And to ensure that everyone can participate, one lucky winner drawn from the raffle audience will leave with the 51st artwork, which, based on last year’s experience, will not be the least.

You can purchase a raffle ticket:

This ticket grants access for two people to the entire evening, including dinner, as well as a guaranteed win of an artwork during the Triangle raffle. There are 50 raffle tickets for 51 artworks, so all tickets are winners. The remaining artwork is assigned by random draw among ticket holders for the evening-only entry at the end of the raffle. Ticket holders choose an artwork from those available in the order of the draw. Each artwork is valued at €300 or more and is authenticated by the artist (signature or certificate).

The raffle ticket is priced at €300, but it is possible to donate more. A €300 invoice will be issued, along with a receipt for the additional donation. If you are unable to attend, you can send us your preferred choice on a piece of paper, mentioning the numbers listed in this catalogue.

This ticket gives access to the entire evening starting from the beginning of the raffle at 9:30 PM (drinks provided while supplies last). This ticket automatically enters the holder into a raffle to win the 51st artwork, which was not allocated during the raffle. The ticket is for one person and is priced at €10 in advance or €12 at the door.

All raffles are conducted with the assistance of Maître Leclère, a certified auctioneer.
