Atelier-Assemblée, red staircase - 2nd floor, Friche la Belle de Mai

« 16 ans : on se rencontre. »
« La gadji c’est un bonbon, j’ai cabré quand je l’ai croisé. »
« Hé Tchikita ! Un accostage en deux roues, en deux temps, sous Kalenji, électrisé. »
Sara Sadik’s work is rooted in what she identifies as the beurcore culture, that of the youth from working-class neighborhoods with Maghrebi diaspora roots. She manipulates its aesthetic references, whether related to music, fashion, social media, or science fiction, in order to create new narratives that unfold in her video installations, performances, or photographs.
Sara Sadik lives and works in Marseille (FR). She graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux in 2018 with honors. Her work has been presented in various group exhibitions, notably by Triangle France - Astérides at the Palais de Tokyo as part of Do Disturb (Paris, 2019); at Karma International (Zurich, 2017); Art Athina Fair (Athens, 2017); Roodkapje (Rotterdam, 2018); Istituto Svizzero (Rome, 2017); Open’er Festival (Gdynia, 2017); and 221 A (Vancouver, 2017). Her work was featured in a solo exhibition at Voiture 14 (Marseille, 2019).
Triangle France - Astérides supports Sara Sadik’s work as part of her residency at the Ateliers de la Ville de Marseille.
