Transmission(s) - second chapter
Solo Show by Guillaume Gattier
February 10 - March 14, 2014, opening on Friday February 7 from 7:30 p.m.
Courtyard of the City Hall of the 11th arrondissement of Paris, 12 Square Léon Blum, 75011 Paris.
Off-site exhibition, as part of the Transmission(s) program, initiated by the City Hall of the 11th arrondissement of Paris, offering a cycle of three exhibitions each year, along with art history courses and writing workshops.
After a first exhibition with Laurie Charles, Triangle France invites Guillaume Gattier for the second part of the Transmission(s) program. The artist, winner of our partnership with Glasgow Sculpture Studios in 2013, takes his turn in the courtyard of the Mairie du 11e.
Born in 1982, Guillaume Gattier lives and works in Marseille, France, where he trained as a carpenter and observer of the everyday, the banal and the discarded. He resorts to principles of revelation, tension or gradual relaxation: the elements in place are activated, leaving an often fragile residual record of the gesture. Last exhibitions: Show room, Art-o-Rama, Marseille; Les Possédé(e)s, Espace HLM, Marseille; 157 Days of Sunshine, The Walled Garden, Glasgow; Fonderie Darling, Montreal, Canada.
Guillaume Gattier will make a presentation of his work during the art history class on February 6, 2014. You will also have the opportunity to meet him and discuss his works on February 7, 2014, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
