Astrid Nippoldt graduated in 2003 from the University of the Arts Bremen. Making video her preferred medium, she creates often offbeat situations that she uses to invent a process. Her artistic practice relies on images taken from films, which she modifies, giving them a new strangeness. Over the large temporal span of her work, this use of détournement as a driving force in creation is found repeatedly.
