Copa & Sordes is a Swiss artist duo composed of Birgit Krueger, born in 1967 in Munich (DE), and Eric Schmutz Krueger, born in 1962 in Zofingen (CH).

The duo Copa & Sordes have been working together since 1995. Their work explores the intermediate zones between art and everyday life, between high art and kitsch. Human conditions are all the small things that are essential to a culture and that interest them in the sense of a broader notion of art, such as food, clothing, or work. It is mainly through video still lifes that they attempt to document social conditions as well as the passage of time.
