Dominique Vezina is a versatile artist who expresses herself through several media including video, installations/sculptures, and drawing. She recently won the award for best video at the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois for her work Dominique and Louise (co-directed with Louise Camrass). The Montreal cultural weekly Voir (April 13, 2000) identified her as a new face in the 2000 artistic crop and described her as a “researcher” with “a vision of life and the world that is original, more homemade than experimental.” Often staging herself, she cleverly focuses on the small tragedies of everyday life.
