2002

Jonas Liveröd is an Astérides Resident in 2002. The archives of Triangle-Astérides do not allow for the determination of the exact dates or the duration of this residency in 2002.

Jonas Liveröd was born in 1974 in Sweden, he lives and works in Hammenhög (SE) and Berlin (DE)

Swedish artist Jonas Liveröds work is defined by an on-going exploration of materials, mediums and ideas. He regularly exhibits in museums, galleries and other venues internationally but also ventures in to many other areas. He is deeply materially unfaithful and his work spans from textiles and sculpture to collecting, print and lecture, and he is regularly working with curating artifacts of wonder from museums and private collections . Recently he was artist in residence at Centre Culture Suedois in Paris and released his own encyclopedia called Grand Assembly. He curated the show I had the strangest dream for Kristinehamns Museum of Art as well as putting on his own exhibitions at among other venues Värmlands Museum and Bror Hjorths hus. He has also produced a number of public artworks in various places in Sweden in the past year. His ongoing collaborative stage-show Revenge of the Uncanny with Tobias Bradford has premiered at the National Museum in Jakarta and will has a Scandinavian premiere in September.

He has received numerous awards and grants and is currently receiver of the Swedish Arts Councils prestigious five year grant. Liveröd runs the culturally interdisciplinary organisation Luftslottet that includes his own museum of the extraordinary – The Liveröd Wunderkammer (LWK). Luftslottet and LWK are dedicated to collecting, outsider art, altered states, subcultures and all things un-categorisable. A new collection has been added in 2023, this is a library of death and funeral literature as well as the Vanitas collection – objects related to the culture of death. This collection is housed in a grand funeral carriage which will have its own pavilion at the same location as Luftslottet and LWK – that is to say at Liverödland in Ågårdskvarn.
