“Laurent Moriceau belongs to that family of artists who seek to foster relationships between individuals, whether viewers or participants in their work. His artistic interventions are almost always opportunities for a shared, convivial experience. Whatever form his practice takes, it is never demonstrative, ostentatious, fixed, or univocal. There is no real creation of objects, no tangible production that can be readily catalogued. Rather, his work consists in setting in motion a process through which ideas, information, or objects circulate—processes that, outside the artistic context, would carry only a trivial, playful, or incongruous meaning. It is within this intermediate space that Laurent Moriceau’s art resides.”
