Founded in Nîmes in 1988, Les Matons is an artist duo whose principal field of experimentation is the photobooth. For nearly thirty years, they produced more than 2,000 self-portraits, using costumes, props, and staged settings to create images that are at once humorous, offbeat, and poetic. Their practice subsequently evolved toward collage, printing, and photographic appropriation, giving the humble photobooth a truly artistic dimension.
