Minne Kersten was born in 1993 in Utrecht (Netherlands). She lives and works in Amsterdam (NL). The work of Minne Kersten (NL) takes a literary approach: she tells visual stories and constructs sculptural environments that accompany these stories or complement their reading and interpretation. Minne Kersten works on installations, videos, sculptures and paintings that form the backdrop to a fictional world. In this world which has its own (often absurd) logic and which blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination, men, objects and architectural elements find new relationships with each other. She is interested in the relationships between the real and the imaginary, the ordinary and the strange - by staging situations in self-constructed cinematic settings, subject to chaos, decadence or deconstruction. Through immersive installations, his filmic and sculptural works interweave personal themes such as grief, loss and memory with the collective realm of fiction, fables and symbols.
