Diyae Bourhim was born in 1999 in Rabat (MA). She lives and works in Salé (MA). Ahmad Karmouni was born in 1994 in Assilah (MA). He lives and works in Assilah (MA).

Mouhawalat is an artistic collective co-founded in 2020 by four young Moroccan artists Ahmad Karmouni, Diyae Bourhim, Mehdi Ouahmane and Imane Zoubai. Dedicated to artists and researchers who never stop trying, Mouhawalat gradually shapes its identity through continuous attempts at creation and encounter. The collective explores and questions the current situation of young artists in the Moroccan art world. Through many mediums, the collective reflects more on the concept of “attempts” and creates new avenues for constant learning, through collective and collaborative work, to promote exchange and extend learning. The Mouhawalat that the collective maintains makes it possible to collaborate, and program artistic events, in art spaces, residencies, exchanges and round tables such as Triangles-Asterides (2023), Mahal Art Space (2021), Think Tanger (2021), Our Teaching Takes Shape As We Go (2022), as well as receiving grants such as Self Organizations - Private Audience (2020), Grant for Artists’ Practice, Mophradat (2022). Currently, three artists are still present in the collective: Diyae Bourhim, Ahmad Karmouni and Mohamed Haïti, all graduates of the National Institute of Fine Arts-Tétouan, Morocco. Each of them has established their own studio, where they develop a multidisciplinary practice ranging from illustration, photography to sculpture and from engraving to embroidery and installation.
