Nana Oforiatta Ayim

Nana Oforiatta Ayim lives and works in London (GB).

Nana Oforiatta Ayim is a historian, writer, and filmmaker based in Accra and London. She is currently working on a publication and exhibition on contemporary art institutions in Africa with architect David Adjaye and preparing a book on Ghanaian photographer James Barnor. She has written for National Geographic, The Statesman, The Dubliner, and Time Out. She has presented her studies at universities such as Cambridge, Kumasi, London, and Oxford.

She has curated exhibitions at the British Council, the British Museum, the Liverpool Biennial, the Royal Festival Hall, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. In her fiction writings and short films, she addresses themes of translation and the gaps in language. Nana Oforiatta Ayim recently published her first work of fiction, The Tightrope Walker.
