“Arranging, linking, organizing, including or excluding, distancing or bringing closer — these actions form the core of my approach. By focusing on forms drawn from my most immediate, concrete, and personal everyday life, I seek to represent them through arbitrary systems. A specific arrangement of objects, a relationship between materials and what is represented — or the reverse.
This involves creating systems or conceptual methods that confront external, collective, or universal data. In this way, my work questions the connection between the gesture — my act of making — and the environment, a relationship I refer to as “objeste,” a word formed from objet (object) and geste (gesture).
The aim is to establish connections, to construct works according to variables that do not necessarily depend on the pieces themselves, but on their context. This allows me to play with the specific conditions of production and implementation.
By working with humble materials and within the limits of an everyday economy, I find the possibility to explore as many variations as are necessary.”
