Véronique Leblanc

Véronique Leblanc is in residence as part of an exchange program between Fonderie Darling (Montreal, CA) and Astérides.

Véronique Leblanc lives and works in Montreal (CA).

She is an independent curator, writer, and lecturer in art history at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She has curated exhibitions showcasing the work of artists such as Artur Żmijewski (PL), Katarina Zdjelar (RS/NL), Dave Ball and Oliver Walker (GB/DE), Kaya Behkalam & Azin Feizabadi (DE/IR), Paul Wiersbinski (DE), as well as Jean-Pierre Aubé (CA), Patrick Beaulieu (CA), ATSA (CA), Louis-Philippe Côté (CA), Jean-Pierre Gauthier (CA), Emmanuelle Léonard (CA), and Anne-Marie Ouellet (CA).

She was the first curator-in-residence at Laboratorio Arte Alameda (Mexico, 2013) as part of a collaboration with Oboro (Montreal), and in 2014 she held a studio at the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York, supported by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.

Winner of the 2015 John R. Porter Award from the Fondation du Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec for her essays on Emmanuelle Léonard and Artur Żmijewski, she is currently preparing a text on the work of Raphaëlle de Groot for the exhibition catalogue Rencontre au sommet (2015–16), organized by the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the Southern Alberta Art Gallery (Lethbridge), and the Windsor Art Gallery (Windsor).

At the end of her residency, Véronique Leblanc curated the exhibition Actuellement en résidence #1, 2015.
