I start from an observation: being a painter today is an awkward situation. The term painting is doubtful; it struggles to define its object. At best, it defines a practice, a practice that appears very open. I consider myself a painter even though my practice is transversal. It arises from questioning the activity of the painter itself. Hence the question: how to continue painting? I then decided not to specialize and to live different pictorial experiences. It is about creating a distance from the object painting and reconsidering its function and place in the creative process. In other words, it is no longer just the painting object that is rethought but the entire activity.”
