“Roxane Borujerdi and Clément Rodzielski find in this 11th edition of Actoral the opportunity to bring to fruition a long-standing collaboration, suspended since their shared studies at the Beaux-Arts de Paris a few years ago. Both engaged with the ever-changing nature of ordinary materials, they propose to merge two existing activation protocols from their respective practices into a sculptural and epiphanic performance, evoking notions of waiting and invisibility. What is a performance? What does it mean to be a spectator? These are questions Roxane and Clément do not so much answer as they bring to life through their work.” – Dorothée Dupuis
Clément Rodzielski was born in 1979 in Albi.
He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (2005), where he still lives and works. He says about his work : “It is most often about measuring the gap between what is in front of us and the origin of images – and their destination.” He is represented in Paris by Galerie Chantal Crousel and in London by Sutton Lane Gallery.
Roxane Borujerdi graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2006.
She embraces a multidisciplinary practice where each technique she employs establishes a playful, almost unconscious, relationship with reality and context. Through light and poetic actions—such as spontaneous writing or testing myths like the belief that a piece of toast always falls on the same side—she reveals the ambivalence of a daily life that is both random and deeply meaningful.
After participating in several group exhibitions (J’en rêve, Fondation Cartier, Paris; Mots d’ordre Mots de passe, Fondation d’Entreprise Ricard, Paris, 2005/2006; Convoi Exceptionnel, Astérides and Triangle France at Galerie de la Friche Belle de Mai, Marseille, 2009; On fera quelque chose d’intéressant la prochaine fois, Le Commissariat, Paris), her work can now be seen in her second solo exhibition at Galerie Lucile Corty, running until October 29, 2011.
