June 3 - 27, 1998
Galerie de la Friche, Friche la Belle de Mai, 13003 Marseille
Welcomed at the initiative of the artists and members of the association, Madeleine BERKHEMER, Ingrid MOURREAU and Laurent TERRAS began their residency in the ASTERIDES studios in January 1998.
During these six months of residency, they carried out substantial work enriched by numerous exchanges and discussions with various members of ASTERIDES and with contemporary art professionals encountered during studio visits.
The dynamic thus created makes the exhibition necessary, as it naturally contributes to the circulation of ideas within the privileged context of the encounter between the public and the artist.
For the artists in residence, the creative period in Marseille also encouraged encounters with other artists whose work and artistic approach particularly caught their attention.
Thus, Madeleine BERKHEMER, Ingrid MOURREAU, and Laurent TERRAS are sharing the Galerie de la Friche Belle de Mai with four artists (including one couple) already familiar within the contemporary art scene, with whose work they felt a certain complicity emerge.
In this exhibition, it is the encounter with the respective work of Christophe BERDAGUER & Marie PEJUS, Géraldine PASTOR-LLORET, and Véronique RIZZO that Laurent TERRAS, Ingrid MOURREAU, and Madeleine BERKHEMER wanted to share with the public.
More than a dozen works are presented in the 300 m² of the Gallery.
