Clémence Lollia Hilaire
Clémence is a guadeloupean artist currently based in the Netherlands whose practice is at the intersection of moving image, sculpture, and installation.
During her residency, she will continue developing a hybrid short fiction project following a boy who suffers from a mysterious illness attributed to colorism and journeys through different encounters in search of a cure. Blending fiction, popular Caribbean myths, archival research at the ANOMS in Aix en Provence, the work attempts to, hopefully, humorously, navigate through affective hangovers of hierarchies of race, value, and desire persisting in shaping lived experience today.
