“My work focuses primarily on video, photography, and writing, conceived either for the cinema or for exhibition spaces, most often serving the reconstruction of personal and social narratives.
It revolves around the relationship between myth, topography, and personal experience, aiming to build narrative situations where History and individual realities meet to form new concepts that explore the notion of resistance. More specifically, it is a reflection on our daily position within both domestic and political environments. I am very sensitive to the sites in which I develop my films and photographs, and I try to find, for each of my projects, the appropriate topographical point of view that will preserve the mystery of what is represented in the image.
I consider my practice as a balance between forms and what they evoke. It is built continuously like a spatial arrangement, comparable to the fragmented space of a garden, leading toward an intimate experience of time. The exploration of this space relies on multiple interconnections between literary spaces and real spaces. It is founded on a plane where gestures of aesthetic experimentation and environment meet to develop new forms.” — Gabrielle Le Bayon
