Alain Domagala

2000, 2001

Alain Domagala is an Astérides Resident in 2000 and 2001. The archives of Triangle-Astérides do not allow for the determination of the exact dates or the duration of this residency in 2000 and 2001.

Alain Domagala was born in 1969 in Cambrai (FR), he lives and works in Marseille (FR)

A number of artists today conceive their work with the intention of disturbing or breaking down the divide between the real space of experience and the symbolic, imaginary space. Alain Domagala’s work precisely highlights the discrepancies between normative representations, such as cartography or scientific drawing (somewhat outdated in certain cases), and the imaginary transposition each individual may project onto them. His aim is to question and deliberately introduce an ambivalence between object, installation, design, model, and sculpture, in order to create environments that foster encounters between mental and physical space. Domagala positions himself in the interstice, at the junction of conscious dreaming and grounding in the real world.
