Amber Berson

Amber Berson is an Astérides Resident in 2016.

Amber Berson is currently in residence as part of an exchange program between Fonderie Darling (Montreal, CA) and Astérides.

Amber Berson lives and works in Tiohtiá:ke (also known by its colonial name, Montreal) (CA).

Amber Berson is a writer, curator, and doctoral researcher currently pursuing a PhD at Queen’s University (Kingston, CA), where her research focuses on the culture of self-organized feminist artist-run centres and utopian thought.

She recently curated Trailmix (2014); ~ _: JENNIFER JENNIFER X :. ~ (2013); La course annuelle des administrateur·rice·s des arts (2013); and The Wild Bush Residency (2012–ongoing).

She is a member of the editorial board of dpi, a feminist journal of art and digital culture, and recently organized the Montreal edition of the Art+Feminism Wikipedia project. Her writing has been published in Canadian Art, Esse, Fuse Magazine, C Magazine, and the St Andrews Journal of History and Museum Studies.

During her residency, Amber Berson organized two events: Meeting and discussion on feminism in art spaces and Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon.
